Abstract
A terahertz Luneburg lens based on Maxwell fisheye lens is proposed in this work. Benefitted from the features of Maxwell fisheye lens, we design the Luneburg lens by Maxwell fisheye lens as an intermediate structure. The idea of the feed moving away from the lens allows for more flexible feed design and reduces the design complexity of compact feeds in the terahertz band. The Maxwell fisheye lens is used to keep the feed antenna away from the Luneburg lens. Further, miniaturized Maxwell fisheye lens via transformation optics is presented for terahertz multibeam Luneburg lens. The simulated results have confirmed the feasibility of this idea successfully.
