Miniaturized Dual-Band Implantable Antenna

Abstract

The main objective of this letter is to present a small-size, dual band implantable antenna operating at the wireless medical telemetry services (WMTS) band (1395–1400 MHz) and Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) band (2.40-2.48 GHz). A rather compact size of 90mm3( $\mathbf{12\times 12\times 0.625}$ ) is obtained. The simulated -10-dB bandwidths are 10.83% (150 MHz) for the WMTS and 5.74% (140 MHz) for the ISM bands, respectively. The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) distribution at both frequencies induced by the implanted antenna are evaluated.
