Abstract

In this paper, we proposed microstrip antenna that embedded global star personal mobile satellite communication(receive band : 1.610∼1.6265GHz, transmission band 2.4835∼2.500GHz) terminal. The proposed antenna designed to gain characteristics of circular polarization. Folded structure and plate structure for microstrip were used by changing into 3-dimensional structure. And stacked structure designed to obtain characteristics of dual band circular polarization. Antenna size is length 24mm × width 46mm × height 13mm. The measurement results showed, in the case receive band, −10dB bandwidth is 801VlHz (5%)), the bandwidth below axial ratio 3.5dB is 18MHz, the gain of x-axis pol. is −1.4dB, and HPBW of the E and H plane is 77°, 79°, respectively. In the case of transmission band, −10dB bandwidth is 163MHz(10%), the bandwidth below axial ratio 3.5dB is 20MHz, the gain of x-axis pol. is −1dBd, and HPBW of the E and H plane is 133°, 69°, respectively. Therefore we can confirm that the designed antenna satisfied personal mobile satellite communication terminal.
