Abstract
Abstract : Geochemical surveys were carried out during Summer 1966-67 near Showa Station. Specimens collected included evaporties which were widely distributed on the flat ground surface of a dried-up pond or deposited on the surfaces of rock outcroppings or in the shades of rocks. In this study, chemical analyses were carried out on a collection of white evaporites and yellow salts and the minerals were identified by X-ray powder diffraction. In order to study the yellow salts, the rocks on which white evaporites or yellow salts were found were analyzed and extraction tests were attempted to determine the state of the iron. Reported here are the results of these tests.
