Abstract

Pig kidney samples as well as fish samples were collected from the local market and analysed by ICP-MS. For the trout muscle samples the lead (Pb) concentration varied between 0.020 ppm and 0.037 ppm while the Pb concentration in pig kidney samples varied from 0.021 ppm to 0.028 ppm and for the fish from Danube River the concentration varied from 0.020 ppm to 0.037 ppm. A larger scale survey of the mineral content and heavy metals concentration in meat produces is needed in order to estimate the potential risk for heavy metals accumulation and the mineral balance for the population in the studied area.
