Abstract
Abstract This paper discusses the history of the Western Australian School of Mines, the philosophy behind the various models that have been proposed for mine surveying curricula, some distinctions between the cadastral and the mine surveyor and the registration of authorised mine surveyors in the State of Western Australia.
