Abstract

Mind-body medicine is transforming the way many people think about the human body in health and disease. In this paper the author reviews how a biopsychosocial model is influencing medical thinking, and outlines principles and methods for practicing healthcare professionals who would like to more systematically incorporate a mind-body approach into their encounters with patients. Implications of healthcare reform are noted.
