Abstract
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has attracted much attention as it is convenient to implement and robust to multiple path fading. However, the system performance of OFDM will be degraded seriously in highspeed wireless communications, since it is much sensitive to severe inter-carrier interference (ICI) caused by highspeed vehicles. Recently, a novel modified OFDM system, called interleaved subcarrier index modulation OFDM (ISIM-OFDM) which modulates part of the information bits by the indices of OFDM subcarriers, is proposed for mitigating the ICI of traditional OFDM system, so as to achieve a better performance. In this paper, we expand this system to Multiple Input Multiple Output occasion. Through the simulation result with Maximum likelihood detection (ML), the MIMO-OFDM with ISIM has lower bit error ratio (BER) than MIMO-OFDM with the same spectral efficiency. What's more, Minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection is also fit for MIMO-ISIMOFDM system as a low complexity detection algorithm.
