Abstract

Free Space Optical communication ( FSO) provides secure wireless communication, because of its lowest probability of intercept and antijam characteristics. This paper analyzes the performance of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) FSO system with proposed Gamma Exponential channel model. Major factor that affects the performance of FSO system is atmospheric turbulence. The error performance over atmospheric channel is described by Gamma Exponential channel model. The PDF of Gamma Exponential channel with MIMO- FSO system using Generalised Multiuser Scheduling (GMS) is derived. With Sub Carrier Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (SCQAM), the BER performance over FSO channel is analyzed in terms of refractive index structure parameter and link distance. The proposed system is analyzed and its performance is compared with Single Input Single Output (SISO) FSO system and Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) FSO system.
