Abstract

Indoor localization technology has always been a research hotspot in industry and academia. Indoor localization research using channel state information (CSI) of Wi-Fi signals has also received more and more attention. The existing Angle of Arrival (AoA) estimation method has a low signal-to-noise ratio and a large AoA estimation error in the case of non-line-of-sight or long-distance signal transmission. This paper introduces multiple input multiple output (MIMO) CSI-based AoA localization. The customized software radio equipment with 4 ×4 antenna array is used for MIMO CSI collection, combined estimation of AoA and Time of Flight (ToF) AoA measurement and indoor positioning. Experiment results show that the localization result of the AoA estimation method adopted in this paper is more accurate than the localization result of the AoA estimation method in SpotFi.
