Abstract
A highly isolated multi input multi output (MIMO) antenna is proposed for WiMAX and WLAN application. The proposed scheme is consisted of two monopole antennas each includes a ground plane and two L-shaped elements as the radiation patch. The antenna operating bands are including 3-4 GHz frequency band with a central frequency of 3.5 GHz and 5-6 GHz with a central frequency of 5.5 GHz, where the isolation level is better than -17 dB. The experimental prototype of the proposed antenna has been made for measurement purposes. The antenna final dimensions is 38×20 mm 2 which is a very compact one in comparison with previously designed configurations. Based on the results reported in this paper, the proposed MIMO antenna is appropriate for WiMAX and WLAN applications.
