Abstract

Milton G. Ettinger, long-time Chief of Neurology at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, died May 2, 2008, of meningitis. Milt struggled with several medical problems in recent months, but he was clear-headed and forward-looking until his final brief illness. Milt was raised in St. Paul and earned baccalaureate and doctoral degrees from the University of Minnesota, graduating from Medical School in 1954. After internship in Los Angeles, Milt returned to the University to train in neurology under A.B. Baker. Milt completed his residency in 1958 and an air force stint in 1960.
