Abstract
The operational spectral range of Fourier transform spectroscopy, using a Michelson interferometer, has been extended from far infrared wavelengths through the submillimetre region to a wavelength of 5 mm. Absorption and refraction spectra are obtained as a continuous function of wavelength and some typical liquid phase results are presented for chlorobenzene and water. The accuracy, consistency and significance of the results are discussed.
