Abstract

A periodic dielectric meta-surface structure was designed to extend the output window operating bandwidth of a wideband mode gyrotron travelling wave tube. The equivalent permittivity of the meta-surface matching layer can be adjusted arbitrarily by changing the lattice dimensions. The fabricated meta-surface dielectric window demonstrated a relative bandwidth of 53.9% with a reflection below in the Ka- and Q-band.
