Abstract

The Talbot effect has been thoroughly examined in the optical spectrum, and has found applications, most notably, in devices such as array illuminators. This letter presents an experimental investigation of the free-space Talbot phenomenon in the millimeter-wave band. Measured results for a one- (1-D) and two-dimensional (2-D) phase grating are presented. Also, a novel cascaded grating configuration, that is promising for future applications such as spatial power combining, is investigated.
