Abstract

The use of a millimeter wave semiconfocal interferometer in the Zeeman measurement of 12C32S is described. The J=1→2 rotational transition has been observed at 97.981 GHz in applied magnetic fields up to approximately 15 000 G. The interferometer provides a convenient technique for yielding long effective absorption path lengths. The interferometer employed had Q=2700 and an effective path length d=1.3 m. The rotational gJ-value was measured to be ± (0.269) ±0.005).
