Abstract

Milk cow breeding, basic profession in the mountain and rural area, assures rhythmic incomes and performance for farmers. Also, this sector assures the stability of human recourse in mountain and rural area. Through dairy farming it is assured the superior using of feed obtained in natural system areas. Variation is a typical characteristic for food products because they consist of biological materials. Especially raw materials which are directly delivered from primary production to processing companies show considerable variation. This variation is present in the milk primary production also. There are differences in both quantity and quality. The present paper stress on some differences that were observed in organic farms. The research evidentiate the main differences taking into consideration the milk quantity, some milk components and the length of the lactation of two different cattle breeds, Austrian Spotted and Brawn from 14 organic farms. The duration of normal lactation was higher in the case of Austrian Brawn cows. Also, there were remarked differences and milk production at first lactation. The cows from Austrian Brawn breed having a 4972,44±653,15 kg milk production and a coefficient of variation of 16, 44%. Significant differences were remarked in the case of other parameters to. The statistic test established a degree of insignificant differences only in the case of milk fat content.
