Abstract
Miguasha National Park, in Quebec, Canada, is considered to be the world’s most perfect example of the Devonian period known as the “Age of Fishes.” The Upper Devonian rocks contain fossils of fish from the period, such as the fishes that gave rise to the first four-legged, air-breathing terrestrial vertebrates, the tetrapods. Besides the fishes, there are also invertebrate and plant fossils displaying life as it existed on Earth 380 million years ago. The park’s fossil collection has 18000 specimens. A large number of these fossils are exceptionally well preserved, with complete specimens, 3D specimens, and fossilized soft tissues.
