Abstract

Spring and Autumn migration were studied during 1984–1986 over the central Aegean, Cyclades, Greece. 104 bird species were recorded, mainly on the island of Naxos. The seasonal occurrence as well as the dates of the observations are given. Comparisons are made with the records of other observers. The number of bird species is high during spring migration but migration is less pronounced during the autumn. As a rule the autumn passage has a longer duration in relation to the spring one, which progresses rapidly, mainly in April.
