Abstract

Introduction: There is little data on the reparative response of stem cells following non-ischemic cardiac injury. We hypothesized that acute non-ischemic cardiomyopathy induced humoral and local changes that promote stem cell recruitment and localization; accordingly we study bone marrow cell recruitment in a model of acute non-ischemic cardiomyopathy. Objective: To characterize the response and bone marrow derived- cell influx into failing myocardium utilizing a GFP bone marrow mouse model of acute non-ischemic cardiomyopathy.
