Several endeavors of adopting green IT takes place in various organizations, ranging from manufacturing to end-user IT utilization. However, there is no existing literature citing green IT adoption in the universities of the Philippines, including the practices, implementation, and green IT stewardship. Hence, this study sought the extent of green IT implementation in a university for environmental sustainability and operational cost reduction and to contribute to its endeavor of strengthening the green IT stewardship and implementation. The study used a quantitative method in gathering and analyzing the using a questionnaire developed from past studies. Besides, it obtained the mean responses of the different green IT practices as well as the significant difference between the green operational IT practices of the groups of respondents. The result showed that the university already started implementing green IT in its operational and procedural practices, although it is still not fully strengthened and steward. Thus, there is a need for a balanced implementation and stewardship of these practices in order to fully implement green IT. Moreover, the result further implies that a more focused green IT stewardship is necessary to give comprehensive awareness of its implementation, its impact on the environment and the university’s sustainability.
