Abstract

This report outlines a case of a 21-year-old white female with a history of menstrual migraine attacks without and with visual aura in the form of both positive and negative features. Accumulating evidence suggests that a history of migraine with aura may be a relative contraindication to the use of postcoital contraceptive regimens. This case suggests that postcoital contraception with a high dose of oestrogens (Yuzpe regimen) could be a hidden stroke risk factor in young women with migraine.
