Abstract

This article is the attempt to analyze the migration of Poles in the context of their decision-making. The author attempts to show the impact of mobility in these two dimensions: coercion and a free choice. In this context, the issues of descriptions undertaken, the author debates the factors indicating a forced migration and factors that show the free decision about migration. Assuming that migration is a phenomenon of modern times, and its exodus takes the necessity of its continuum, the undertaken analysis seems to be very important because it shows the holistic dimension of living units in the social space. Nevertheless, the attempt to answer the question concerning the decision-making of working outside of the homeland still reminds very difficult. Perhaps the answer lies in decisions of migrants – given their conditions of existence in society, their resourcefulness, thrift and the needs arising from the standard of living.
