Abstract

Objective To study the effect of mifepristone combined with misoprostol for early medical abortion. Methods A total of 84 pregnant women who accepted early medical abortion at our hospital were taken as the clinical objects and were randomly divided into a control group (42 cases) and a study group (42 cases). Both groups were given mifepristone; besides, the study group was given misoprostol. The contraction time, bleeding time, average bleeding volume 2 h after uterine curettage, successful rate of abortion, and adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results The contraction and bleeding times were (1.63±0.54) d and (12.05±6.48) d in the study group, which were obviously shorter than those in the control group [ (2.68±0.67) d and (16.37±5.59) d] (both P 0.05) . Conclusion The combination of mifepristone and misoprostol for early medical abortion has fewer adverse reactions, can effectively shorten the contraction and bleeding times, reduce the bleeding volume after uterine curettage, and increase the successful rate of abortion.
