Abstract
This paper presents the results of a study on selected properties of the blends of novolac resin with natural rubber (NR/NBR) and styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer (SBS/ESBS) with various degree of double bond epoxidation. The differences in properties indicate that the reaction between blend components took place. It was found that the degree of epoxidation, the type and content of elastomer as well as the hardening conditions, i.e. temperature, time and urotropine addition, have a significant effect on the blend properties and indirectly on the reactivity of the system.
