After 40 years of unmatched political stability, Spain's political landscape has been suddenly reshaped by two insurgent, populist forces, Podemos and Ciudadanos. Anna Bosco looks at the factors that maintained the two‐party system for so long, and why that system seems to have so rapidly fractured.
