Abstract

Treatment outcomes in patients with nasal cavity and paranasal sinus cancer are directly related to the maximal surgical resection, which often leads to severe facial deformities. Facial tissue retractions caused by scars lead not only to cosmetic defects, but also to functional disorders and social maladaptation of patients. An integrated approach to the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with nasal cavity and paranasal sinus cancer using the implants made of titanium nickelide (TiNi implants) and free skin flap has been developed at the Cancer Research Institute together with the National Research Tomsk State University. The main task of reconstructive surgery is to create a soft-tissue support, which can prevent postoperative deformation, improving patients’ quality of life.
