Abstract

A fauna of Middle Devonian conodonts from the Harrogate Formation is described. The conodont evidence favors a middle to late Eifelian age rather than a Givetian age for this unit. A new form species of Icriodus, I. stelcki s.f., a new multielement species of Polygnathus, P. parawebbi, and a new multielement species of Coelocerodontus, C. Klapperi are described. A discussion of some of the problems of applying multielement taxonomy to conodont faunas is included.
