Abstract

A design of liquid-filled suspended core microstructured optical fiber based on arsenic-selenide glass has been proposed to generate supercontinuum in the mid-infrared region. Two different non-linear liquids with high non-linear refractive index, such as chloroform and carbon disulfide have been employed in the air holes of the proposed design. From simulation results it is demonstrated that, ultra-wideband supercontinuum spectra ranging from 0.9 µm to 13 µm is made possible using only 2 mm long chloroform-filled suspended core fiber.
