Abstract

Limited carpal fusion offers patients with degenerative wrist conditions reliable pain relief without the complication profile of total wrist arthroplasty and preserves motion compared to total wrist fusion. The authors of this study present the technique of limited carpal fusion with nitinol memory compression staples, which offer a reliable and consistent, alternative to classic methods of intercarpal fusion. Multiple studies have demonstrated outcomes equivalent to traditional fusion alternatives.
