Abstract

Abstract The microwave spectrum of fluorodiacetylene (HCCCCF) in the ground and ν 9 (skeletal bend) vibrational states was observed in the region of 57∼86 GHz by a source-modulated spectrometer. Fluorodiacetylene was produced in a free-space absorption cell by a dc glow discharge in 1,3,5-trifluorobenzene (C 6 H 3 F 3 ) or 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorostyrene (C 6 F 5 C 2 H 3 ). The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants obtained for the ground state are 2038.0986 ± 0.0024 MHz and 84.6 ± 3.4 Hz, respectively, where the uncertainties correspond to three standard deviations. The l -type doubling constant for the ν 9 state, 1.9289 ± 0.0011 MHz, is consistent with the value calculated from the harmonic force field.
