Abstract

A review of OH, H 2O and SiO maser emission from Mira variables and late-type supergiants is given. The galactic distribution of the “unidentified” OH/i.r. sources is discussed and arguments are given for the stellar radial velocity being midway between the radial velocities of the two OH line components.
