Abstract

We study the microwave response of surface intrinsic Josephsonjunctions on Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ, in which bendingpancake vortex lines are introduced in a controllable way. It isfound that the bending vortices can greatly influence theresponse. In some cases, typical Shapiro steps that lie far abovethe quasiparticle branch are observed, with the step intervalsatisfying the Josephson relation and their amplitude versus thesquare root of microwave power following the Bessel functionbehaviour. In the other cases, current steps that lie on thequasiparticle branch are observed, but only one or two stepsappear at the same time under the variation of the microwavepower.
