Abstract

Self broadening and foreign gas broadening of eight transitions of C2H4O have been studied experimentally as well as theoretically. The line width measurements have been made on double modulation microwave spectrograph at room temperature. Line widths have been calculated using the theories of Anderson (1949) and Murphy and Boggs (1967). Theoretical and experimental results have been compared. Variation of line width with the quantum number of transitions has also been studied. An attempt has been made to correlate the experimental and theoretical results.
