Abstract

AbstractThe microwave photonic frequency doubling is achieved through optical carrier suppression modulation. The undesirable optical carrier and new generated optical idler light caused by four wave mixing (FWM) effect in the dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) system can be blocked by a specially designed F‐P‐based FBG pair. A stable microwave frequency component at around 18 GHz with high suppression ratio to unwanted frequencies (>40 dB) is obtained after an RoF link transmission. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
