Abstract

Electromagnetic waves may now be demonstrated and studied as simply and inexpensively as sound waves, waves in strings, and waves in ripple tanks. Do-it-yourself sources, receivers, and experimental arrangements for standing waves, interference in thin films, Young's experiment, Lloyd's mirror, polarization, and Doppler effect are described. Teachers and students are currently making contributions to the study and application of microwave optics.
