Abstract

The microwave–optical double resonance technique has been used to observe rotational transitions in the à 1A″(000) state of DNO. Thirty-four rotational lines, including 101–000, 28 a-type, and three b-type transitions were observed in the frequency region from 3 MHz to 90 GHz. Most of the observed lines are found to be perturbed by a few to a few hundred MHz. Perturbations are found in transitions with K′a =0, 1, 2, and 3, and ‘‘extra’’ levels associated with the 93 levels of the excited state have been observed. Improved values have been obtained for the rotational constants B and C and for the centrifugal distortion constants δJ and δK.
