Abstract

With the growing energy need, hydro power becomes the most outstanding source of renewable, clean and affordable energy. However, slurry erosion of underwater components reduce the overall efficiency of the power generating system, thus, fails to fulfil energygoalsentirely. To prevent erosion damage, protective coatings are highly recommended. In present study, response of microwave cladding against slurry erosion wear is reviewed. The effects of process parameters such as microwave power and exposure time are discussed in detail. Microwave cladding of different material systems and their slurry erosion performance are also summarized.
