Abstract

Non-resonant microwave absorption (NRMA) studies have been done for YBa2Cu3Oy film (≃800A) fabricated on MgO (100) substrate. NRMA signals, either from film surface or interface, were separately observed below Tc. The NRMA intensities, In, and linewidths, △Hpp, were studied against temperature.△Hpp were also studied as a function of applied magnetic field direction θ. A tentative analysis for the △Hpp vs. θ relation revealed that the normal component of applied magnetic field is effective for the generation of NRMA.
