Abstract

The U-type hexaferrites, (Ba1-3xBi2x)4Zn2Fe36O60 where x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20 were prepared via auto combustion technique. The structural properties were carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies. The room temperature magnetic properties were reported to increase with doping. Natio-Suetake model has been employed to calculate the reflection loss using transmission line theory. the maximum microwave absorption of 99.8% and −10 dB reflection loss has been obtained for the sample x = 0.20. This material can be used for the effective electromagnetic interference shielding (EMI) and reduction of radar signatures.
