Abstract
A 26-year-old primiparous woman with an acute SARS-CoV-2 infection was admitted to the hospital at 40 weeks of gestation for vaginal delivery. Laboratory studies of the maternal blood showed mild leukocytosis (13.86×103/μL) and anemia (12.2 g/dL). The male newborn weighing 3100 g was delivered with 1- and 5-minute Apgar scores of 9 and 10, respectively. Furthermore, the newborn tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. The mother and newborn were discharged on the seventh postpartum day to domestic quarantine.
