Abstract

Tubulin modifications are emerging as interesting mechanisms to regulate microtubule dynamics. A new study shows that phosphorylation of α-tubulin bythe atypical kinase PHS1 leads to rapid disassembly of cortical microtubules in plant cells that are under hyperosmotic stresses.
