Abstract

Background: Nerve injuries may occur during different oral procedures, being the most common ones during third molar removal, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, resection surgery of oral pathologies and on occasions from endodontic therapy or local anesthetic injection. Although, the majority of injuries recover spontaneously, there is a group of patients that without adequate micro-surgical repair cannot recover their sensitivity completely.
