Abstract

Total penile reconstruction was first described in 1936 by Bogoroz. Since then, techniques have improved, but there are still problems to be solved, including the optimal use of tubular flaps, multiple procedures, the lack of erogenous sensibility, and stenosis of the neourethra involving skin graft grafting. Some of the main advances have involved the use of microsurgery and the antebrachial radial free flap, which reduced the number of procedures, permitted cutaneus neural suturing from the flap to the pudendal nerves, and utilized part of the vascularized flap for the the neourethra, thus decreasing dehiscence and stenosis. This paper purposed a demonstration of the authors' experience with total phalloplasty.
