Abstract

The Department of Plastic Surgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital has performed more than 10,000 free tissue transfers since 1978. The reconstructive spectrum covers head and neck, breast, upper and lower extremities, and trunk. The most commonly used flaps are anterolateral thigh flaps, forearm flaps, gracilis and fibula osteoseptocutaneous flaps. This presentation highlighted the concepts, knowledge, and techniques which have made significant contribution to the development of these reconstructions.
