Abstract

In this paper, the in-situ (ZrB2 + Al2O3)/7N01Al nanocomposite was manufactured by in-situ Al-Zr-B-O reaction system and hot rolling. The microstructure indicated that the grain size of nanocomposite was refined from 21.7 μm to 13.6 μm by the addition of 3 vol% (ZrB2 + Al2O3) binary nanoparticles. The ultimate tensile strength (UTS), yield strength (YS) and elongation (EL) of the material were increased to 589.5 MPa, 490.5 MPa and 21.1% respectively through tensile test. These tensile properties improved 38.2 %, 44.1 % and 20.6 %, respectively, over the 7N01Al. Discussing the influence of (ZrB2 + Al2O3) nanoparticles on the dislocation distribution of the material and the strengthening mechanism of mechanical properties.
