Abstract

The defects were repaired and heat treated by arc additive and low-frequency pulse-assisted method. The microstructure of Mg-Y-RE-Zr alloy was improved, and the high-performance multilayer and multipass deposition layers were successfully prepared. After T6 heat treatment, the tensile strength reaches 321 MPa, which improves the connection efficiency of the repaired zone. Weld Metal (WM) is uniformly distributed equiaxed with an average size of 15.25 µm and no obvious texture. Black clusters of the Zr-Y phase gather at the WM grain boundary. In WM, uniformly dispersed nano-scale β' phases are precipitated from the matrix to improve the grain boundary strength.
