Abstract

Herein, the microstructure and mechanical properties of Ni-17Cr-xCo, x = (2, 6, 10 wt%) ternary alloy system fabricated through field-assisted sintering technique for turbine disc applications were assessed. The sintered alloy’s average relative density reduces from 97.56% to 96.02%, with increasing cobalt content. The nanoindentation result shows that the hardness and elastic modulus of the alloys increases as the Co-content increases. The phase diagram calculations of the alloys via Thermo-Calc software predicted the stability of fcc crystal structure from 403 °C to 1406 °C for the compositions considered in this study.
