Abstract

Nd2Fe14B + α-Fe alloys have been processed by twin roller melt spinning, where the force applied to keep the rollers in contact, the only experimental variable. We found that the evolution of the equiaxed pattern in the microstructure depends on the applied force. The magnetic properties are also affected by this experimental parameter: we found that as force increases, a detriment in the BxH product is detected. These results are important because we are introducing a new control parameter in the elaboration of magnetic melt spun alloys.
