Abstract

In the work reported in this paper the microstructural evolution and stability of CoCrAlY and NiCrAlY coatings on IN-100 and Udimet 520 superalloys were investigated. Detailed examinations of the γ′ phase and chemical compositional evolution from the bulk to the coated surface after different thermal treatments were carried out. The validity of the PHACOMP program to evaluate the probability of TCP formation is also discussed.
